Walking with a Bear S.O.U.L.

SOARING EAGLE VISION

It’s ironic that on a cloudy, misty day I sit to write of the soaring eagle vision. Generally, the eagle is thought of as a majestic visionary bird who soars high in the blue sky with the crisp brightness of the sun high overhead. And that is the crystal clarity that one might seek in finding vision.

But that is not what is called for in the cloudy, overcast skies of the mind when the moment seems challenging or obscure in any given moment.

As I look down from my second story window at a robin passing by, and he noticed me, I am reminded of the pure predatory awareness of the eagle. I wonder, how does the eagle hold that pure language of ancient survival without casting that projection of dominance so common in humans of the modern world?

This is my second question. What survival instincts are at play in my life and how do I go about relating with the world around me at large. Both natural and built or “artificial”?
